The Functional Safety Engineer (TÜV Rheinland) SIS competency review course spans over 3.5 days, consisting of three consecutive days of vocational training, supplemented with student exercises and homework questions for self-study to prepare for the exam on the final day.

For in-person training sessions, the 4-hour closed-book exam will be conducted on the morning of the fourth day. The exam comprises 60 multiple-choice questions (1 mark per question) and 25 open-ended questions (1 mark per question).

For virtual training formats, the exam will be conducted entirely online. It will consist of 70 multiple-choice questions (1 mark per question) and 3 open interview questions (5 marks per question).

The pass score criterion for both exam formats is 75%.

Exam rules and regulations:

• Attendance: The applicant must attend (minimum once) the 3 consecutive days of the training course.
• Eligibility Requirements: Completion of the Eligibility Requirements forms is mandatory. This form must be completely documented, signed, and supported with the necessary documents (University degree or statement letter from employer).
• Certificate Issuance: All exams are monitored by TÜV Rheinland, which will issue personal certificates to successful participants.
• All certificates will be listed on the Certipedia website (https://www.certipedia.com/functional_safety_certificates?locale=en)

What you will need:

• Pen or pencil/eraser (both are acceptable).
• A bilingual English-………. dictionary is allowed but not mandatory.

What you do not need:

• Mobile/cell phone.
• Calculator
• Photo/video camera or any recording-enabled devices.
• Course manual, notes, or summaries.

Re-exam:

• The retake exam, subject to payment of the retake fee, must be completed within a maximum of 1 calendar year from the date of the first exam without requiring a full re-enrollment in the training.
• You have the flexibility to select a location from one of the upcoming TVC Functional Safety Services – training sessions currently listed on our website (https://tinovc.com) and the TÜV Rheinland (https://www.tuv.com/landingpage/en/training-functional-safety-cyber-security/) website.
• Registration must be finalized at least 4 weeks prior to the event to comply with administrative regulations.
• Following the lapse of 1 calendar year from the date of the initial exam, complete re-enrollment in the course (including payment of fees) will be mandatory.
